Treevah
Folders made simple.
Problem
File management hasn’t evolved. Even in 2025, users still waste time navigating endless folders and tabs. Cloud tools improved storage, not experience — they remain slow, rigid, and disconnected.
Treevah set out to fix that: make file navigation feel instant, intelligent, and effortless.
Vision
Reimagine file management as a fluid, contextual workspace where multiple folders and drives coexist seamlessly.
I helped translate this vision into a scalable React architecture with real-time interaction, adaptive layouts, and self-explanatory modules.
Core Goals:
● Cut navigation time by 60%+ via live folder indexing.
● Build a modular system that needs no onboarding.
● Maintain user focus with smooth, low-latency transitions.
The result: a lightweight, privacy-first web app where food redistribution happens within minutes, not hours.
Engineering Approach
We replaced static navigation with a spatial workspace system, keeping multiple folder contexts alive simultaneously.
I owned the frontend performance layer, optimizing render trees and refactoring 50+ components into token-driven modules for visual and functional consistency.
Highlights:
● A centralized design system powered by React context and tokens.
● Event-driven drag-and-drop engine for multi-folder interactions.
● Micro-interaction framework using modern React hooks and animation for instant feedback.
Outcome & Impact
Treevah’s new architecture brought measurable engineering outcomes:
● 60% faster navigation across workspaces.
● 34% performance gain through component-level optimizations.
● Consistent UX achieved via unified design tokens and reusable components.
● Improved developer velocity, with faster builds and easier cross-team integration.
Users described the experience as:
“Everything just flows.”
“Feels like Finder and Notion had an engineer’s mind behind it.”
